Full Name: Lieutenant Commander Elisabeth Rebecca Adler
Known as: Adler, "That Nightwatch bitch"
Birthplace: New York City, Earth
Occupation: Earthforce Security Internal Affairs
Hobbies/Interests: History, Sports

Lt. Cmdr Adler was born in New York to poor German immigrants. She was raised in a strict houshold, brought up to believe that with proper discipline, anything was possible. The theory was proven (in her own mind) when, despite living in squallor and going to second-rate schools all her life, her hard work earned her admission to the Earthforce Military Academy. In the military, she thought, she could really make a difference, and make something out of her life.

The military lifestyle suited Adler. In the Academy, she took electives in criminal justice, and found that she had an aptitude for law. This, combined with her ingrained respect for rules and regulations, guided her into a career in Earthforce Security. After a few years and a distinguished service record, she volunteered for an assignment in the Internal Affairs division. She could understand regular criminals, driven to break the law through desperation, greed, or just plain stupidity. But she had no tolerance for cops who broke their oaths to uphold the law. When Nightwatch was formed, Adler was naturally one of the first people to sign up. She was a patriot, and truly believed in the alien threat to Earth.

Adler first came to Babylon 5 after Lt Keffer stumbled upon a Shadow vessel and was killed. Her mission was two-fold: to investigate the origins of the Shadow vessel, and to look into reports that security on Babylon 5 was in shambles. Sparks flew between her and the other security officers, and she crossed swords more than a few times with Security Chief Garibaldi. Adler returned to Earth convinced that Garibaldi was completely incompetent and that Babylon 5 was going to hell in a handbasket.

When she heard that they were looking for someone to assign to B5 as a political officer, a liasion between Nightwatch and the B5 command staff, Adler was quick to volunteer. She returned to B5, eager to keep a closer eye on things. Her devotion to duty led to her doom when she got too close to uncovering and exposing the Army Of Light and the conspiracy against President Clark. Adler was killed in a scuffle with Garibaldi Down-Below in November 2261.
