Full Name: Lieutenant Commander Jennifer Caruso
Known as: Jen
Birthplace: Saudi Arabia
Occupation: Executive Officer, Babylon 5
Hobbies/Interests: Flying

For as long as she can remember, Jen Caruso wanted to fly. She used to lie on the desert sands of Saudi Arabia as a child, staring up at the stars and dreaming of reaching them some day. It was a goal that would drive her actions throughout her life.

Jen's father was a member of the Earthgov Diplomatic Corps. When she was young, her parents would drag Jen and her older brother (Tony) around to various 'tourist traps' throughout the region. She saw the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, the temples at Mecca and Medina, and various other wondrous sights. The air of mystery surrounding such places intrigued Jen, and she could only imagine what wonders might be found on distant worlds.

It was at the Dhahran Air Base, watching the atmospheric jets and shuttles take off and land every day, where Jen's obsession with aircraft first began. She would sit for hours, learning how to identify the planes by their silhouettes and memorizing their capabilities. When she was 16, she began taking flying lessons. Her first flight, even though it was in a rickety two-seat prop plane, was one of the greatest thrills of her life. Jen realized then that she wanted to fly for a living. But not just any planes... Jen wanted to fly among the stars.

Earthforce was a way of reaching her goal. With the help of her father's diplomatic contacts, she obtained sponsorship to attend Earthforce Academy in Geneva. Jen qualified for the flight program, and though her enthusiasm sometimes got the better of her, she did fairly well in her courses. She graduated from the Academy and was thrilled by her first duty assignment - to Delta Squadron, a Starfury detachment at Mars' Richtie Station. She later served on the Agamemnon and the Serapis.

In all her service reports, Jen was characterized as a hard-working, competent officer, easy to get along with and extremely dedicated to her principles. She has an intense curiosity and a respect for other people and cultures. Her hard work has culminated in her most recent promotion - to Lieutenant Commander - and reassignment to Babylon 5 as the new executive officer. She looks forward to working under Captain Sheridan again, and finds the prospect of learning about all these new alien cultures to be an exciting challenge.
