Zoe

Actress Parminder Nagra

Played on Battlestar Pacifica MUSH (2006-2007)
Full Name: Crewman Zoe Myrek
Known as: Short Stuff, Wrecker
Birthplace: Aquaria
Occupation: Marine, Deck Hand
Hobbies/Interests: Flute

Background

Zoe Myrek joined the Colonial Marines shortly before the attacks. The Pacifica was her first assignment, fresh out of training. She was assigned as a Small Arms Technician for first platoon, responsible for weapons maintenance and repair.

Zoe is quiet, preferring to keep to herself, but she is friendly and cheerful once you manage to draw her into a conversation. She doesn't seem the military sort, even less so the marine sort, but she does her job quietly and efficiently. She likes to tinker and is handy with machines. She plays the flute sometimes in the bunkroom, when nobody minds, and is pretty good at it.

She doesn't talk much about her family. About the only thing that's common knowledge is that her father was a boat captain (as in: watercraft, not spaceships) on Aquaria. Also, she and Ensign Kaoz Pride were childhood friends. She commonly refers to him as her 'big brother'.

IC Events

Zoe participated in the Depot Raid aboard Lemooor Anchorage, as well as the Rescue Mission for the crew members left behind on the Ice Planet.

Zoe looks up to Lance Corporal Lais Sarris, envying her tough-as-nails attitude and combat skills. Her ill-advised hero worship got her into trouble when Lais recruited her to be part of the second mutiny attempt, helping Bailey, Joska and Theda escape from the brig. When the mutiny failed, Zoe and Pvt. Carrus turned themselves in and were arrested.

Convicted of various charges in regards to the mutiny, Zoe was sentenced to fifteen days hard labor on the Tantalus along with the other mutineers. She returned to face the anger of many marines, particularly her platoon sergeant, Limmer and squad leader, Sprata. The incident has left her feeling guilty and doubting whether she really belongs in the marines, but she keeps her head down and tries to do her job.

The young marine is good friends with fellow Private Derrick Colson. Things got a little awkward when he asked her out and Zoe turned him down, but it all worked out and now they're pals again. Zoe considers Colson her "best mate".

Zoe was seriously injured when the marines were ambused aboard the derelict Cylon base star. She spent a week in sickbay (along with Colson), getting out just in time to celebrate Kaoz's 30th birthday. It took a few more weeks to get fully back on her feet, but she was finally cleared back to duty.

Zoe was with Elom Cooke when he attempted to steal the Cylon transponder from engineering, messing up yet again. After volunteering down on the hangar deck during her off-hours following the loss of the Dream, Zoe once again found her love of engines. She also earned a new nickname, courtesy of Tug: Wrecker. She applied for a transfer to the deck crew and it was accepted on 337AD.

Finale

When the fleet arrived at Picon, Zoe remained aboard the Pacifica, happy tinkering with Viper parts on Pacifica's hangar deck.

During the final battle, she was working with a damage control team, trying to rescue crewmen trapped on Deck 15. A fire flashed over, killing Zoe and several other DC team members. Zoe "left behind" her fellow deckhands, her on-again-off-again boyfriend Colson, and of course her big brother Kaoz.
